THERMOCUT 230/E - Proxxon hot wire cutter for polystyrene and plastic film

Stable frame and 390 x 280 mm work surface made of aluminum composite. Textured surface ensures smooth gliding of the workpiece. The screen-printed frame and corner markings facilitate practical operation. Solid aluminum bow (350 mm reach and 140 mm clearance). Includes stirrup and spool (supplied with 30 m of 0.2 mm diameter wire). Miter cuts are possible by sliding the stirrup. An LED indicator prevents burns, as the hot wire reaches full temperature in less than a second.

The correct temperature (depending on the material and thickness) is determined with a bit of experience and practice. Optimal cutting is best achieved with a measured temperature and pressure.

Important :

Thanks to the integrated isolation transformer and class 2 insulation protection, this device is perfectly safe. The heating elements operate at 10 V, 1 A.

230 V, 50/60 Hz. Secondary transformer: max. 10 V for 1 A. Cutting wire temperature adjustable from approx. 100 to 200 °C (0.2 mm). Weight approx. 3 kg. Class 2 protective insulation.

A simple and effective solution for circular cutouts: attach an inverted thumbtack to the tray using adhesive tape. It then serves as a central axis.

Noticed:
Polystyrene is an inexpensive, very eco-friendly material compared to others, and can be easily cut with a hot wire. It is available in almost all DIY stores in standard-sized sheets of 50 x 100 cm and thicknesses ranging from 2 to 16 mm.
