The Tamiya Lamborghini Countach 5000S ref. 47527 is an electric radio-controlled car kit to assemble at the 1/10 scale. This reproduction of the famous Italian supercar pairs a detailed polycarbonate body with the TT-02 road platform, a four-wheel-drive chassis with shaft transmission. It is aimed at RC car enthusiasts who want to build, decorate, and drive an icon from the 1980s.

The Lamborghini Countach has left its mark on automotive history thanks to its angular, very low, instantly recognizable silhouette. First presented as a prototype in 1971, it entered production with the LP400 from 1974. The 5000S, equipped with a 5-liter engine, represented a major evolution in the lineup in the early 1980s. Produced in around 320 units until 1985, it remains one of the most iconic Lamborghini models.

This Tamiya 47527 captures the dramatic look of the Countach 5000S with a 1 mm polycarbonate body. The wheel arches are already cut and the holes for the body mounts are pre-made, making finishing steps easier. Separate white plastic parts represent the side mirrors and the rear spoiler. Metalized headlight housings complete the presentation and can accept LED lighting sold separately.

Decoration is up to the model builder: the kit includes decals as well as paint masks. Body paint designed for polycarbonate is required to finish the body. The five-spoke disc wheels are matched with radial tires with tread, suited to the road and sporty style of this reproduction.

The Tamiya TT-02 chassis uses a shaft-driven 4WD transmission. This drivetrain sends power to all four wheels and is particularly suited to an all-around track RC car. The battery is mounted longitudinally on the left side of the chassis, while the motor sits on the right—an arrangement designed for the model’s overall balance. Suspension arms and knuckle carriers are identical left and right, simplifying assembly, while the transmission housings make maintenance easier.

The TT-02 is also a modular base: it allows different wheelbases, ground clearance, and track width setups, as well as an extensive range of transmission ratios through the use of appropriate gears. This design makes it a popular platform for learning how to assemble an electric RC car and progressively customizing its on-track behavior.

The kit includes a Torque-Tuned motor and an electronic speed controller. In an electric RC car, the speed controller manages motor speed and braking from the radio transmitter. To complete and run the model, you will need a 2-channel radio system with receiver, a steering servo, a drive battery with its charger, batteries for the transmitter, polycarbonate paint, and the appropriate assembly tools.
