The Tamiya The Falcon 2026 ref. 47532 is a limited-edition kit for an electric 2-wheel drive (2WD) RC buggy at 1/10 scale. This modernized reissue brings back the original Falcon launched in 1986, an iconic machine from the vintage Tamiya RC buggy universe. It preserves the original model’s visual identity and overall architecture while incorporating updates aimed at improving drivetrain efficiency and real-world off-road driving.

With its low stance, large rear wing, and additional headlights, the Falcon revives a distinctive 1980s style associated with electric RC buggies. The polycarbonate body is complemented by separately molded parts, including headlight pods and the driver, to enhance the realism of the rolling scale model. An updated sticker sheet helps you recreate the original Falcon’s graphic spirit.

The kit is built around an ABS plastic tub chassis, designed to provide a rigid base suited to changes in loose terrain conditions. The independent four-wheel suspension combines double wishbones at the front and trailing arms at the rear. Hydraulic CVA shocks provide suspension damping, with shorter units at the front and longer ones at the rear. This setup is well matched to using a 2WD electric buggy on off-road surfaces.

The rear drivetrain uses a closed gearbox that integrates a gear differential. The differential allows the driven wheels to rotate at different speeds when cornering, improving driving smoothness. The closed gearbox also helps protect the gears from dust and small debris encountered during off-road runs.

The Falcon 2026 includes universal drive shafts assembled at the rear and a complete set of ball bearings. Bearings reduce friction in the rotating drivetrain components, while the universal CV-style joints accommodate rear suspension movement while transmitting power to the driven wheels.

This buggy comes with a brushed 540-type motor and an electronic speed controller. A brushed motor, also known as a brushed (carbon) motor, is a commonly used electric power system in RC modeling. The electronic speed controller manages motor speed and enables braking from the radio transmitter.

Assembly and finishing are central to the experience offered by this Tamiya kit. The polycarbonate body must be painted using a paint suitable for polycarbonate, applied to the inside surface to preserve the finish during driving. To complete the model and operate it, you’ll need to add a radio system including a transmitter, receiver, and steering servo, as well as a drive battery, its charger, and the required assembly tools.
