Helicopter carrier Jeanne d'Arc, formerly known as Resolution, named after the French heroine of history - Joan of Arc. Construction of the ship began on 7 July 1960, 30 September 1961 was launched, and 30 June 1964 was commissioned.
The Jeanne d'Arc was widely used, usually used as a training ship, little modified in wartime, she can be used as an amphibious assault ship, helicopter carrier or troop carrier. During manufacturing, troop carriers can carry a battalion of 700 men landing their equipment.
The ship is 182 meters long, 24 meters wide, 7.3 meters draft; the powertrain is with 2 turbine axes, 40,000 horsepower; the maximum speed is 26.5; 15 at maximum speed, range is about 10,000 kilometers or more. A single helicopter platform can accommodate 8 helicopters; the ship's latest armament systems include four 100mm cannons and six MM38 "Flying Fish" ship missile launchers. The aircraft carrier Jeanne d'Arc was modernized in 2000, the 100 mm rear anti-aircraft artillery was removed.
