STANDARD Nitrocellulose Protective Coating 100ml Kavan

Clear nitrocellulose coating for the protection metal parts and the shrinking covering papers on small models and miniature models.

Usage:

Protection of metal parts and shrinkage of coating papers on small models and miniature models.
Brush, roller or spray application.

Directions for use:

Dilute the coating if necessary with KAVAN Thinner STANDARD. Apply to the coating with a flat brush or soft roller.
Apply 2 to 4 coats, always allowing each coat to dry for at least 24 hours and sand with a fine 6000 to 1000 grit sandpaper.
For a model equipped with an engine, it is necessary to apply a fuel-resistant topcoat (e.g. KAV56.9990 KAVAN Top Coat POLY, 5MA4401 RC Color Clear Spray Paint).

Removing excess uncured paint:

Use a cloth or paper towel soaked in KAVAN Thinner STANDARD.

Paint dilution:

The plaster is supplied in concentrated form. Depending on the needs and the application method, it can be diluted with KAVAN Thinner STANDARD in any proportion to achieve the optimal consistency for application.

✅ Suitable for:

Surface protection of metal parts (brass, copper, aluminum, etc.) against oxidation.

Shrink coating with limited shrinkage for cover papers and textiles of models (e.g. Vlies) on small models and miniature models with a subtle structure (compared to STANDARD or COLOR shrink coating, it has a much lower shrinkage and adds less weight).

❌ Not suitable for:

Materials sensitive to organic solvents (expanded polystyrene, etc.).

Weight gain:

10ml of undiluted coating adds approximately 0.7g to the weight of the model.

???? Storage:

Store in a tightly sealed container, in a cool, dry and dark place (temperature between 15°C and 25°C / 59°F to 77°F).

Do not expose to a temperature below 5°C, nor to frost.

1 year in its original unopened packaging, subject to proper storage conditions.
