The Peugeot 504 pickup was presented in September 1979. It thus respects the traditional scheme of the Sochalian brand: when a new model arrives in the range, the previous model is declined as a utility. The 504 pickup is therefore launched the same year as the Peugeot 505.

The 504 pickup remained in dealerships for a long time and did not leave the assembly line for good until 2005, in Kenya, after more than 26 years of uninterrupted production. One of the reasons that will motivate the discontinuation of this mythical utility is certainly the terrible Japanese competition of the time. Despite everything, he was able to stand up to many brands on the world market for a long time. Even today, it is not uncommon to come across in the French countryside or on an African track, a 504 pick-up truck in full effort, carrying out its laborious mission.

In 1986, the 504 pick-up range was available in two finishes: comfort and contractor. The latter offered more than a ton of payload with a 4 cm longer plate and a limited-slip differential on the aft deck. Easily recognizable by its specific tipper, it is also the finish that we wanted to reproduce in a scale model.

The 504 DANGEL pickup

The 504 is the first vehicle transformed into a 4x4 by Henri Dangel. The transformation kit he developed in his Haut-Rhin plant was quickly validated by Peugeot and adopted by professionals. This vehicle has been designed for intensive use and to face international competition in the off-road market. In the 80s, several drivers made it possible to highlight the French 4x4 by participating in the Dakar, the most famous rally raid.
