The Apastol Felipe was one of six Galleons martin of Arana built for King Philip IV of Spain. He was one of the " Galions de la Plata ».
This type of galleons was used to transport goods and treasures on the India Route. His first voyage as part of the galleons fleet was made in 1629, carrying treasures to Spain.
It was almiranta's ship of the Armada de la Guardia until 1633. He participated in the Brazilian War to recover Pernambuco and transported troops and money to Flanders, taking part in the Battle of the Dunes.
