In the race to conquer the South Pole, three names shone with their own brilliance: Ernest Shackleton, Robert Falcon Scott and Roald Amundsen.
Theendurance was launched on December 17, 1912 as Polaris. Originally powered as a frigate, it was transformed into a three-masted brigantine, and in 1914 it was part of the famous "Transatlantic Imperial Expedition", which sailed for the Antarctide crossing under Sir Ernest Shackleton.
After the shipwreck of August 19, 1915, they remained entangled in the ice of the Weddell Sea. For 522 days, they will withstand winds of up to 300 km/h, and temperatures of 40 degrees below zero.
Shackleton, with a few men aboard the ship "James Caird", makes one of the most memorable and heroic journeys in the history of navigation. With all his crew, he takes on the greatest challenge... survive.
The expedition is remembered as an epic story of self-improvement, heroism and survival.
