The Multiplex Lentus RR 1-03231 is a large 3m electric motor glider made of ELAPOR, delivered fully assembled with a ROXXY brushless motor, speed controller, folding propeller, and six Hitec servos. Its ailerons and flaps ensure a wide range of use, from thermal soaring to slope soaring, with a butterfly function for precise approaches.
A 3S LiPo battery, a receiver and a 7-channel radio control are required to fly.
The Multiplex Lentus RR 1-03231 is a 3-meter wingspan electric motor glider designed for thermal soaring, slope soaring, and dynamic piloting. Made of ELAPOR , it is offered in an RR version ready to accept radio equipment: the airframe is assembled, decorated, and already equipped with its motor, speed controller, servos, and wing connection harness.
With its 3,000 mm wingspan, camber flaps, and four wing control surfaces, the Lentus combines the qualities sought after in a large electric glider: exploiting thermals, slope soaring, high-speed passes, and precise approach control. The flaps, in particular, allow the use of Butterfly mixing, a configuration that raises the ailerons and lowers the flaps to increase drag for more precise landings.
An electric motor glider uses a motor to gain altitude without immediately relying on a tow or launch. Once altitude is reached, the folding propeller folds flat against the fuselage, reducing drag during gliding. The Lentus is therefore designed for modelers looking for a high-performance, versatile glider, with radio installation to be completed before the first flight.
A richly equipped RR version
The Lentus comes with a ROXXY C35-48-990kv brushless motor, a ROXXY BL-Control 755 S-BEC speed controller, and an 11 x 7-inch folding propeller. The brushless motor provides the electric propulsion for the model, while the speed controller manages the motor speed via the transmitter's throttle channel. The BEC integrated into the speed controller powers the receiver and servos from the propulsion battery.
Flight control is handled by six Hitec HS-65HB Karbonite servos . These control the elevator, rudder, ailerons, and flaps. The wings feature a quick-connect wiring harness with M6 connectors, simplifying glider assembly in the field.
Cell design
Radio configuration and power supply
The Lentus RR requires a 3S LiPo battery , a receiver compatible with your chosen transmitter, and a 7-channel transmitter to operate the basic functions: elevator, rudder, ailerons, flaps, and motor. A 9-channel configuration allows for the addition of optional retractable landing gear and tow hook functions. A compatible LiPo charger is required to recharge the propulsion battery.
The model is designed to accept the optional Lentus retractable landing gear. With the landing gear, a Hitec HS-85MG servo, an 8 x 6-inch folding propeller, and a 4S 2600 mAh LiPo battery, it can be configured for electric takeoff ( FES) . A tow hook can also be installed by adding an HS-65HB servo, even when the electric propulsion and landing gear are in place.
The Lentus can also be equipped with telemetry devices, including a variometer. This instrument provides information on altitude variations and is a valuable aid for locating and exploiting thermals.
